After 20 Years, the Bimini Boatyard Celebrates their Re-Birth

Company Boasts its Highest monthly Sales and local Brand Vigor~Fort Lauderdale's- Yacht Basin, July, 1st, 2009 / BBY / -- September 14th, 2009 marks the 20th anniversary of the Fort Lauderdale's first Caribbean Wood-Fire Grill influenced menu. The Bimini Boatyard (BBY) Bar and Grill, a Fort Lauderdale institution, brought us Fort Lauderdale's best Happy Hour more than two decades ago. 20 years later, BBY continues to make a eager imprint on South Florida’s history all-the-while boasting great food, visitations from people world and a brand loyalty that has undeniably affixed BBY as a restaurant leader for years to come.

Until just recently, the BBY’s concept has not changed over the past decade but, our re-Birth strategy - that took place in October this past year, is our next step in an International vision and expectation for this beloved local hautespot. The new Chef is developing a formidable cross-cultural menu that boasts the revitalization of an indigenous Caribb-ican menu reminding us of a past South Florida's favorite~”New World Cuisine”. His extensive work experiences and familiarity with the Caribbean and South Florida are uniquely represented on this menu. Both lunchtime and dinner versions of this recent restructuring venture will feature dishes originating from the French, British and Spanish speaking Caribbean. “Wings and Mahi Mahi sandwiches will no longer be the highlights of this menu-although they are still good selling items”, says the Chef. That is not to say that there haven't been improvements within this decade on BBY menus. Now, these new menu offerings, kitchens that are better equipped, a dining room that is set with improved seating, the fresh look (coming...Sept. 1St, 2009), additional lounge furnishings and more flat screen TVs have dramatically altered BBY and help to fashion it’s re-birth.

BBY, Inc. the Fort Lauderdale based operator presumes food, beverage and the new merchandise sales are expected to exceed $8 million, which is more than a 100 percent increase over 2007. "When you consider the hurdles we have overcome as Floridians during the past year and the current weak economy, our success with the local based consumer, is a real testament to the strength of our brand and our new operations overview," said Steve Hudson, the CEO of BBY. "Based on what we are seeing today (referring to heighten sales) with our local, national and international guests, I feel safe in saying BBY will still be going strong for another 20 years," continues Hudson.
